Task 1 Letter · semi formal letter

A colleague from another department is going to visit your city for a few days on a business trip. He/she has asked you for some suggestions. Write a letter to your colleague. In your letter: - recommend a good place for him/her to stay - suggest some things he/she could do in the evenings - offer to help during the visit

Dear Mr Reynolds, Thank you for your email. I was pleased to hear that you will be visiting our city next month, and I am more than happy to give you a few suggestions to make your stay comfortable. Regarding accommodation, I would strongly recommend the Grand Riverside Hotel, which is only a ten-minute walk from our office. The rooms are spacious and reasonably priced, and it also has a quiet business lounge where you can prepare for meetings. Many of our visiting staff have stayed there and given very positive feedback. As for the evenings, there is plenty to keep you occupied. The old town area is lovely for a stroll, and it is full of small restaurants serving excellent local dishes. If you enjoy live music, the jazz club on Market Street is well worth a visit. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need anything during your trip. I would be glad to meet you for dinner one evening, or arrange a taxi to bring you from the airport. I look forward to seeing you soon. Best regards, Daniel Park
