1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating a Bandly account, submitting an essay for checking, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use Bandly. If you are using Bandly on behalf of a school or organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms on its behalf.
2. The service
Bandly is an automated tool that reviews IELTS Writing Task 1 and Task 2 responses against the publicly described band criteria and returns an estimated band, feedback, and suggestions for improvement. Bandly is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the organizations that own or administer the IELTS exam, and it does not issue official scores of any kind.
3. Your account
Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract in your country, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit content that you do not have the right to share, or that infringes someone else's intellectual property;
- upload unlawful, abusive, or harmful material, or anything containing sensitive personal data you were not authorized to share;
- attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape at scale, overload, or disrupt the service;
- resell, sublicense, or pass off Bandly's feedback as an official IELTS assessment; or
- use Bandly to cheat on, impersonate a candidate in, or otherwise undermine the integrity of any real exam.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the essays and letters you submit. You grant Bandly a limited license to process, store, and analyze that content so we can return your feedback and improve the quality of our checking. We describe how we handle your text in our Privacy Policy.
6. Payment and subscriptions
Paid plans are described on our Pricing page. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time from your account settings before the next renewal date. Prices may change with reasonable notice, and any change applies only from your next billing cycle. Money-back requests are handled under our Refund Policy.
7. Band scores are estimates
Bandly's bands and feedback are automated estimates generated by software. They are not official results and cannot predict or guarantee the score a human examiner will award on test day. Real exam outcomes depend on many factors outside Bandly's control. Use our feedback as practice guidance, not as a promise of any particular result.
8. Limitation of liability
Bandly is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bandly and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for any exam result, missed opportunity, or decision you make based on our feedback. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
9. Changes to the service and these terms
We may update, add, or remove features, and we may revise these terms from time to time. If we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use Bandly after a change means you accept the updated terms.
