Some people think that governments should tax fast food in the same way as cigarettes and alcohol in order to reduce health problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Fast food is very popular in many countries and it cause many health problems like obesity and heart disease. Some people say government should put tax on fast food same like cigarettes and alcohol. I agree with this idea, because I think it can make people more healthy. Firstly, if fast food is more expensive, people will buy it less. This is same with cigarettes. When the government increased the tax of cigarettes, many smokers stopped smoking or smoke less than before. So I believe that fast food tax can also work in the same way. People will think two times before they buy a hamburger, and maybe they will cook healthy food at home instead. Secondly, the government can use the money from tax for the hospitals. Fast food make many people sick, and the government spend a lot of money to treat these sick people. It is fair that fast food companies and customers pay some of this cost. The tax money can also be used for teaching children about healthy eating in the schools. However, some people say this tax is not fair for the poor people, because fast food is cheap and they buy it often. This is a true problem, but I think the government can make healthy food more cheap at the same time, so poor people also have good choice. In conclusion, I agree that the tax on fast food is a good idea. It will reduce health problems and give money to the government for hospitals and education.
