Task 1 Letter · formal letter

You attended a training course organised by your employer, but you felt that it did not meet your expectations. Write a letter to the training company. In your letter: - give details about the course you attended - explain why you were not satisfied with it - suggest what the company should do

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a professional development course that I recently attended, and which unfortunately fell well short of what had been advertised. The course in question was the two-day "Advanced Project Management" workshop, held at your Manchester centre on 6th and 7th July. My employer had enrolled a group of eight staff, and we were led to expect an intensive, practical programme delivered by industry specialists. Regrettably, the reality proved disappointing on several counts. , the sessions were almost entirely theoretical, with none of the hands-on exercises that the brochure had promised. The trainer also arrived unprepared on the second morning, and a significant portion of the scheduled material was simply omitted. To make matters worse, the printed handouts contained numerous errors, which undermined our confidence in the content . Given these shortcomings, some form of remedy is warranted. I would ask that your company either offer a partial refund to my employer or, preferably, provide a supplementary session covering the practical elements we were denied. I would also strongly encourage you to review the trainer's performance to prevent others from having a similar experience. I trust you will treat this matter seriously and respond at your earliest convenience. Yours faithfully, Daniel Park
