Dear Mr Whitfield, I am writing to apply for the part-time sales assistant position at Riverside Books, which I saw advertised in the shop window last Saturday. I am currently a second-year literature student at Carlton University, and this role would suit me well. For the past two summers I worked as a cashier in a busy supermarket, where I learned to serve customers politely even in stressful moments and to handle payments accurately. , I have volunteered at my university library, so I am familiar with organising books and helping visitors to find what they need. Beyond my experience, I am a passionate reader, especially of modern fiction, and I enjoy recommending titles to friends. I would love the chance to do the same for your customers. Riverside Books has been my favourite shop since I moved to this town, and working there would be a real pleasure for me. I am available on weekday evenings and all day on weekends. I have attached my CV, and I would be happy to attend the interview at any time convenient for you. Yours sincerely, Priya Nair
